My heart has always been in psychotherapy. My studies in psychology and social work, with a focus on health and wellness, gave me the foundation for this work, but I wanted more than classroom knowledge. From early on, it felt important to sit with people across many different settings, to learn from their lived struggles, and to understand how suffering and resilience show up in different forms.

I began in an individual and group therapy clinic where clients were often mandated by the courts to receive treatment for substance use, domestic violence, and family conflict. I later worked in an adult inpatient psychiatric hospital, supporting people navigating mood disorders, psychosis, chemical dependency, personality struggles, and the lasting impact of trauma. From there, I went on to medical hospitals and emergency rooms, where I accompanied patients and families through life-changing diagnoses, sudden losses, and long recoveries.

In addition to these settings, I have spent years practicing psychotherapy with adults in both community-based clinics and private practice. These one-on-one therapeutic relationships have deepened my appreciation for the unique ways each person carries their past, and for the slow but powerful process of reflection, healing, and growth that therapy can support.

These years across settings have taught me how suffering can take many forms — but also how resilience, meaning, and transformation often emerge in unexpected places. My experience has acquainted me with the ambivalence and resistance that so often accompany healing and deep transformation, but it has also shown me that we fundamentally strive toward growth..
